About Us
Hygrothermix was founded on decades of hands-on experience in building science, materials engineering, and construction innovation. Long before the company was formed, our team was already working across the industry—designing patented products, contributing to industry standards as ASTM committee members, supporting under-slab installations, and applying advanced hygrothermal modeling to understand how moisture moves through concrete systems. For more than twenty years, we have also collaborated with leading companies across the construction landscape, designing adhesives, developing manufacturing processes, and helping bring practical, science-driven solutions to the market.
The SlabTECK line started out as a research project designed to create a premium-priced cadillac vapor retarder. While we created some amazing hypothetical products, none of them were manufacturable. Our quest to create the top end of the market turned into a value engineering exercise when the science showed current protection to not only be sufficient, but overkill. The SlabTECK line delivers all the necessary attributes of a vapor retarder with a focus on installability
In an industry often driven by marketing claims, Hygrothermix operates at the intersection of applied science, engineering ingenuity, manufacturing expertise, and system installability. Our vertically integrated approach and streamlined supply chain allow us to eliminate unnecessary layers and focus on what matters most: delivering solutions that are both technically engineered and economically practical. The result is the SlabTECK family of vapor retarders and accessories—products designed to provide measurable and reliable control of under-slab moisture while remaining highly competitive in cost.
Our work extends far beyond products. Hygrothermix supports every project with design assistance, pre-slab planning, shop drawings, installation reviews, and real-time technical support. Using advanced hygrothermal modeling, we help project teams predict slab moisture performance before construction begins and document expected performance decades into the future. From early design through installation and long-term performance, our goal is simple: to provide smarter, science-backed systems that protect buildings from the ground up.

With the SlabTECK family of underslab products, you don’t have to guess if your moisture protection is adequate — you’ll know. Our below-slab membranes are engineered using advanced building science physics and state-of-the-art hygrothermal modeling to predict performance throughout a building’s lifecycle. That means we can provide project-specific slab RH values to protect floor coverings, prevent mold and mildew, and mitigate reinforcing bar corrosion.
Unlike competitors who resell generic accessories, we design and/or manufacture our own tapes and sealants, sourcing raw materials directly for higher quality and lower cost. Our team is comprised of manufacturers, converters, adhesive chemists, ASTM committee members (E1745 & E1643), installation experts, patent-producing inventors, and product developers.
And we don’t stop at products. SlabTECK is supported on every project with design assistance, pre-slab meetings, real-time technical assistance, construction shop drawings, digital/in-person installation reviews, and predictive performance modeling to ensure that each system is installed correctly and performs as designed. From science to slab, SlabTECK systerms deliver a smarter, safer, and more cost-effective approach to concrete slab vapor protection.
